1# hamburger
1 C chopped onions
1 C peeled and diced potatoes
1 C diced carrots
1 c. shredded cabbage
1 can (28 oz) stewed tomatoes
1 can (46 oz) tomato juice
3 cups water
1/2 tsp oregano
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup raw white rice
Instructions: Brown hamburger in large soup pot, drain well and crumble. Add rest of ingredients EXCEPT rice---Cook over medium heat until vegetables are soft. Add rice and cook until tender, stirring occasionally. Total cook time approx. 1 hour.
